January 20 6:00 p.m.
Most of our shows at River Lake Inn are G rated, maybe a bit PG if there are no kids in the room. Enigma is PG-13. This is Comedy Club style entertainment, although I suspect most people would find it pretty mild by Comedy Club standards. There won’t be any swearing or hugely blue stuff; it’s PG-13, not R.
Still, it’s definitely not for kids. Not for prudes, either, and certainly not for the squeamish. With those few caveats, laughter and awe are pretty much guaranteed.
February 10 6:00 p.m.
Our usual February show, Two Devious, is a Tribute to Couples special edition, where the focus is on relationships.
If you want to read your honey’s mind, make them do exactly what you want them to do, or learn how to know when they’re telling a little fib, you’ll definitely want to be at River Lake Inn on Saturday, February 10, for our 6:00 p.m. Comedy Magic Show. And be sure to bring someone to take pictures of you and your significant other — you’ll want proof the impossible really happened to you.
March 17 6:00 p.m.
It’s the season of shamrocks and shillelaghs, annoying pinches and pots of leprechaun-guarded gold. Yep, it’s St. Patrick’s Day, the annual cultural and religious celebration of the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick. Did you know that, while there are 4.5 million people living in Ireland, there are almost 35 million Irish-Americans living in the United States?
Join us at River Lake Inn to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a very special Irish Magic Show and Dinner!
April 21 6:00 p.m.
The title of the show pretty much says it all. Playing cards? Billiard balls? Nope, this whole show is about something we all use just about every day of lives.
And, as a very special magic trick, we’re going to attempt to turn someone’s twenty dollar bill into a hundred dollar bill. Will that lucky person be you?
May 19 6:00 p.m.
The History of Magic is a long one (some say it’s the world’s second oldest profession) and an extremely interesting one. Inspired explores a bit of the past, with a nod to the present, and an eye to the future.
June 23 6:00 p.m.
JUNE has traditionally been the most popular month to get married. Indeed, the very name of the month, going back thousands of years, derives from Juno, the ancient Roman goddess of love and marriage.
It therefore seems fitting, I think, that June’s Magic Show at River Lake Inn is going to be our special Tribute to Couples.
If you want to read your honey’s mind, make them do exactly what you want them to do, or learn how to know when they’re telling a little fib, you’ll definitely want to be at River Lake Inn on Saturday, June 23, for our 6:00 p.m. Comedy Magic Show. And be sure to bring someone to take pictures of you and your significant other — you’ll want proof the impossible really happened to you.
July 21 6:00 p.m.

The Abbott’s Get Together always starts the first Wednesday in August and runs through to Saturday night. Every night for four nights, audiences crowd into the local high school for world-class Gala stage shows. It’s a truly grand time.
And every night for each of those four nights, a relatively small crowd of people start their evening of magic with a Magic Show & Dinner at River Lake Inn. Seating is extremely limited and it always fills up early. Our show and dinner starts a bit earlier than usual, so we can make sure everyone has time to make Abbott’s 8 p.m. show.
This, then, is our Magic Week offerings for 2017.

The story of Magic is a long one (some say it’s the world’s second oldest profession) and an extremely interesting one. A Tribute to the STARS of Magic explores a bit of the past, with a nod to the present, and an eye to the future. And ALWAYS with a strong hint of humor.
September 15 6:00 p.m.
No fictional character is more renowned for his powers of thought and observation than Sherlock Holmes. But is his extraordinary intellect merely a gift of fiction, or can we learn to cultivate these abilities ourselves, to improve our lives at work and at home?
Join us as we explore the true power of the human mind.
October 13 6:00 p.m.
Harry Houdini is still, some 90 years after his death, one of the most widely recognized names in the world (not just the magic world, either). In October, to help celebrate his life and the anniversary of his untimely death, we present two very special shows. This Tribute to the man is the first one.
October 27 5:30 p.m.
This second October tribute to Harry Houdini concludes the evening with an attempt to reach the world’s greatest escape artist from beyond the veil of life. The lights are dimmed, the candles are lit, and with any luck a conduit to the underworld will be opened.
There will be no shows during the holiday season. The restaurant, of course, will still be open during normal business hours.
