“DETROIT, Oct. 31, 1926. Harry Houdini, world famous as a magician, a defier of locks and sealed chests and an exposer of spiritualist frauds, died here this afternoon after a week’s struggle for life, in which he underwent two operations.”
October is National Magic Month, in large part because of Harry Houdini, recognized by almost everyone as the most famous magician of all time. We lost Houdini 93 years ago this October. He was only 52 years old.
River Lake Magic is going to honor the memory of Harry Houdini in “A Tribute to Houdini,” a special edition of our monthly Comedy Magic Show & Dinner. Be there, at River Lake Inn in Colon, on Saturday October 12 at 6:00 p.m., to help us celebrate Magic Month in our own unique style.
This will be our 8th annual October Magic Show at River Lake Inn, going back to our first one in 2011. Wow, hard to believe it’s been that long. The highlight of our October show will be “The Deaf Defying Underwater Escape.” I think Harry would have approved. 🙂
This show has it all!
- Incredible Magic
- Daring Escapes
- Inexplicable Illusions
- Electrifying Danger
As always, we offer an intimate cabaret-style show before dinner, with our emphasis always on the humor, and then a special encore performance while your meal is still settling over coffee or wine. Because, of course, there’s no such thing as too much magic, especially in the Magic Capital of the World.
You don’t even have to like magic. You just have to love to laugh.
